July 4, 2009	Brandermill 4th of July Parade - Line up at 9am and parade rolls at 10am.  Starting point is Swift Creek Middle School on Old Hundred Rd.
July 4, 2009	Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, 1-5 p.m. Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park, Henrico County. Free and concessions will be available for purchase. Lots of activities going on! Information: Jeannie Murray, 501-5121.
July 4, 2009	The Huguenot Volunteer Fire Department is requesting the Old Dominion Historical Fire Society to bring some antique fire apparatus to their 4th of July  Event in Powhatan at 2693 Rocky Oak Road. Powhatan Va. 23139 (Left off James A. Anderson Hwy (Rt. 60) 1/4 mile past Dorset road. Live bands, food, ice cream, activities for children, Antique cars, Motorcycles of all kinds and other historical items will also be present. There will be a fireworks show as the grand finale to round out the night. Event start: 5:30pm ending about 10:00pm. Questions or information e-mail: James Sullivan
July 4, 2009	July 4th Parade, Blacksburg, VA - Line up 1:30 PM on N. Main St. at old Blacksburg Middle School. Parade rolls at 2 pm. The Ruritan club will sponsor a free family movie at the Lyric Theatre after the parade ends, and some Downtown Merchants will be open for business that afternoon. The Town of Blacksburg will have music and fireworks at the Municipal Park near the Rec. Center. July 4, 2009	Firefighters’ Parade - Buchanan, VA VFD at 6:00 PM. Line up at town limits S. Main St. U. S. Rt 11at 5:00 PM. Trophy for oldest fire apparatus truck in parade. Advance registration requested (no fee).  Contact Mr. Gleason at (540) 254- 1212.

July 30, 2009	Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department Annual Parade at 6:30 p.m. Parade is located at 20057 Fleetwood Heights Road, Route 685 in Brandy Station, Virginia (Culpeper County). No fee to enter parade and there will be fire and rescue units, majorettes, bands, and antique vehicles.  For more information contact Joe Bailey or 540-825-7125.
August 1, 2009	Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department Annual Car & Truck Show, would love to have Antique Fire and Rescue Units. This event is co-sponsored by the Culpeper Cruisers. Show is from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., $12.00 registration fee - Open Show. Door Prizes & Trophies Awarded. August 1, 2009	The Annual Friendship Firehouse Festival - The Friendship Veterans Fire Engine Association holds its annual Firehouse Festival each year on the first Saturday in August. The popular family event features antique fire apparatus, craft booths, displays by Alexandria merchants, and live music. In addition to the day's outdoor events, festival participants will enjoy visiting the Friendship Firehouse Museum, originally built as a firehouse in 1855. Now a philanthropic organization focusing on fire-fighting history and fire safety, the Friendship Fire Company remains active in community events, including the annual Festival. Food and beverages are available. Children will receive free fire helmets, meet a real Dalmatian, and are treated to a supervised visit inside the City's fire trucks.  For more information call: 703.838.3891.

August 8, 2009 Back by Popular Demand!	10th Annual MDA Car Show for "Jerry's Kids" at Richard Bland College,  11301 Johnson Road Petersburg, VA 23835. Look through scrap books, watch videos of past events, etc. Saturday 8m - 5 pm AM  Class - Thailia Volunteer fire Department  - Restoration process Lunch General Business Meeting Program - Speaker TBD Dinner out for those wishing to join us - pay as you go. May 1, 2010	100th Anniversary Corbitt Preservation Association Event in Henderson N.C.. Because of the history of the Corbitt Company and Oren Fire Truck Company,  ODHFS members who have Oren/ Corbitt fire trucks are invited and encouraged to be a part of this event.
