Update - “The Great Scooter Brigade” and fire truck parade Monday morning 1/16.
For the last 2 weeks, fire departments from Florida to Virginia have participated in “The Great Scooter Brigade”. Chief David Creasy, Richmond Fire Marshall and formerly with Chesterfield Fire for over 30 years is battling cancer and was in need of a scooter. A scooter was donated but was located in Florida. Fire departments got together, picked it up and the scooter has been traveling up the east coast , being passed from one department to another for transportation. The scooter came into Virginia Friday morning and has been making rounds through Virginia fire departments and over this week end. You can check it out on Facebook, look up Chico’s Team, or scooter brigade and all the scoop should come up.
Finale scheduled – This is where we come in – we are meeting with as many apparatus as possible on Monday, 1/16 at CFD station # 14 at Route #1 and Route #10 in Chester, NO Later than 9:00 AM. There we will load the scooter on top of CFD Engine #24, the 1970 Oren that Chief Creasy served on when he was a volunteer in CFD, then proceed to CFD Station #15 (airport) for the final presentation. Everyone is invited to attend.
