I am a longtime Fire Buff born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Prince George's County, Maryland. I follow your website on a regular basis and think all the photos of Virginia Fire apparatus and members collections are Great!!
I am a firefighter for Highland Park, Il. 20 miles north of Chicago. While returning from an alarm I found an old engine manufacturer by Oren, seriel number 2535, date Oct. 1968. The old covered up lettering looks like Washington Engine and Hose Company. Any info or history about this Engine?

For 7 years I have been writing a book about being a FF and I need to talk with someone who knows the "old ways of firefighting". The older the better.
Jack Sullivan, I hope you reserve a couple of days vacation for next February so you can visit with Steve Austin and I at the 2013 SPAAMFAA winter meeting in Jacksonville. Sure would like to see your Chiefs car there.

This site is GREAT I would have never imagined that 20 years ago roughly, when I was a member of ODHFS you would be where you are today. Great job, superior web site. I will be rejoining the ODHFS and my son will also be joining as well. We have 2 peices of equip. and hope to show them soon.

Found your website after looking at a fire truck today to possibly purchase and wanted to see what kind of support was available for these trucks. Your site is very helpful and I will try to attend one of your events in the future.
