The ODHFS is sad to report that our beloved past President, Wayne Kidd, passed away this morning.
Wayne was a Lifetime member of ODHFS & joined on 1/11/86. He immediately gained a reputation as one that was always willing to lend a hand & help other members with their “projects”. He was a genius when it came to electrical systems on vehicles & was very handy at all other aspects of vehicle repairs.
Wayne completely refurbished two X-Hopewell, Va. fire trucks, a 1934 Ford that is now at The Keystone Truck Museum & a 1938 Ford/Oren, both of which were “basket cases” when he acquired them. All of the work was done by him in his small garage or back yard.
Wayne was elected President of ODHFS in 1990 and served in that position for 3 years.
